Who would be so foolish as to blackmail the Black Widow of Whitehall?

Lady Anna Parbury is in trouble. Her father has passed on and his estates and title have passed to her cousin.  It’s not enough, apparently, for her cousin wants the fortune Anna’s father left in trust for her, and he’s willing to compromise her—or worse—to get it.

But Anna has discovered her charming rogue of a father was also a charming rogue of a blackmailer, and that leads to brand new sorts of trouble—like Mr. Elliott Ward, who has arrived looking for the evidence her father held against someone he cares for.  And like Mrs. Dove-Lyon, the famous Black Widow of Whitehall, who has come for the same reason—and with a bargain in mind:  Anna will give the Black Widow the files her father held over her, and in exchange, she will find the girl a husband.

But all Anna wants is her fortune and her freedom.  To get it, she’ll have to team up with Mr. Ward and Mrs. Dove-Lyon. The stakes are high as they battle lies, threats and thugs, but the Black Widow is betting that she can fix this game of love.
